Fox Twinlock system issues

I was just wondering if anybody else that owns a post 2017 Scott spark has had any problems on the twinlock system, as mine is a constant source of problems which has now in total cost me about R 10 000 with constant repairs and servicing needed. Just to have it start sticking again 2 rides later. The shock has been to Omnico 4 times already and had a complete rebuild 2 months ago by them, only to have it start playing up 4 rides later. My bike is awesome but this twinlock **** is driving me up the wall. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. I have a '17 Scott spark 910 and I have exactly the same experience as you. My shock and fork has been to Omnico about 5 times. Every time they claim they worked on it and solved the problem. Even saying it is the result of poor maintenance. I have a very considerate LBS and the have gone to extreme lengths to solve it without any success. I believe Scott and Fox is aware of the problem but not effort has been made from their side to solve the problem.

 

This is really a a pity, because it is such a nice bike.

Had my '17 Spark 910 for 15 months now, so far no issues with the Twinloc system but will follow this thread with interest.

Normally this would not be such a massive issue on an upright shock, but because its upsidedown it is a bitch to reach by hand especially with a bottlecage and bottle.????????

We see a lot of them in them in our workshop. As a rule I replace cables with every service and if required the housing too. Make sure the fork remote interface is clocked correctly.  The shock has a stiff spring in the eyelet so that should not normally be the cause for the stick. The bend at the bottom inside the frame can sometimes cause issues otherwise some lube there in the form of waterproof grease. Check the levers and that the cable runs straight in there and there is no dirt etc causing stick. If you are in Gauteng will be happy to take a look for you.
