Stumpy, Anthem Advanced or Camber Comp?

As a proud owner of a 2018 Camber Comp Carbon, I would like to throw my two cents in the mix...

Bought it in April this year and I'm loving it!  I haven't regretted buying it even once!  Based on the terrain I ride, it makes sense.  I love trails and singletrack, but Bloemfontein doesn't offer these in abundance, so I have to grind some gravel to get long distance training in.

Keep in mind that the Camber is a XC crossover Trail bike, whereas the Stumpjumper is a proper Trail bike (depending on the build and travel) and, as mentioned, can even handle some Enduro.  The Camber hasn't been revamped for quite some time and it seems like there won't be a 2019 version, while the Stumpjumper has been redesigned for the 2018/19 season.  I can't speak for changes/differences in geometry, as I haven't checked it.

So I'd go for a long travel Stumpjumper for more technical riding and the Camber for more XC stuff.  Also check the pricing, as it might be possible to get the 2018 Camber for cheaper than a 2019 Stumpjumper.

I have nothing against the Anthem, I think it's very capable.  I just don't have any knowledge on it to contribute to making an informed decision.

Sorry for the hijack, but I have a 2015 Anthem 29er. Was you're a 29er too? I'm thinking of upgrading... How do you find the climbing efficiency of the Camber in comparison?

Hi Greg- I owned a 2017 Camber Comp Carbon and recently bought a 2018 Anthem Adv Pro. Only reason i sold my Camber is because they are discontinued. The Camber went down most trails like a homesick mole.

The Anthem (in my opinion) is a good blend of both. It obviously climbs better (due to less weight) but its no slouch going down either. With only a 0.5 degree difference in HA, the Anthem is a very competent machine.

I felt less skittish on the Camber (lack of skills) but was a mission to haul the heavy bike up any uphills.

Cool, thanks for the info! I think I should demo the new Anthem and Trance 29 in the future!
