Griffin Posted February 9, 2019 Share Sounds lekker. From what time will you guys practice?Trail will be open from mid morning.. 10am onwards. Marking will be happening though the day so if anyone thinks they creating a sneak line they going to be surprised during racing to find it taped off Stick within the cleared trail and you will be fine though. Start/Finish boards only go up early Saturday morning and no medics are on station during un-official prcatice. Day licences are compulsory for un-official practice. These can be obtained at 11 Karkloof via the honesty box or MySos app (incorporating snapscan and zapper)

Griffin Posted February 22, 2019 Share Stages coming along nicely. Will be working on some final clearing and polishing this weekend. If you out on the trails this weekend to try get a sneak peak please remember a day licence is necessary (unless you have a annual membership). If you see us out there please feel free to stop and say hi .. always happy to hear comments. Day licences available at Howick Hospital, 11 Karkloof and via MySoS (mobile app) Stage 4 may need to change depending on current Sappi harvesting. Will only know that late next week as it depends on their progress.

Griffin Posted February 23, 2019 Share Great day out working on the trails today. Got a lot done and really happy with the comments from riders we saw out there. Stage 1 and 2 getting well ridden in. Please remember day licences are necessary to ride anytime outside of race day. If making use of the mobile app please download MySoS prior to the event to avoid any extra data usage or delays. nigelhicks
Pipsqueak Posted February 24, 2019 Share Griffin can you give us a vague idea of where the stages start from? Firetower? And does my Karkloof Board grant me access to Howick, I can't remember?Thx.
Griffin Posted February 24, 2019 Share Griffin can you give us a vague idea of where the stages start from? Firetower? And does my Karkloof Board grant me access to Howick, I can't remember?Thx. A valid 2019 Karkloof membership does indeed gives you access. Howick MTB Club and Karkloof MTB Club have a reciprocity agreement in place so any Howick member can ride Karkloof at no cost and visa versa. Please note if a Karkloof or Howick member you must display your board on your bike, along with the valid 2019 membership sticker on the board. If you dont have or have forgotten your board/valid sticker then you will need to purchase a day licence. 3 stages start at Firetower and 1 from Puffadder Pass. Please note that work is still taking place on all stages. Stages will be complete and ready for un-official practice on Friday 1 March. Griffin Posted February 25, 2019 Share So what are the details for the the un-official practice? I'm from out-a-town and would like to make an effort to attend. Would recommend that you come have a pedal around if you can .. Stage 2 has A/B/C lines and would be a good idea to have a look at what line you want to take before heading down Stage 1 and Stage 3 also have A/B lines.. Details are park at 11 Karkloof, pay your day licence (via MySoS so please install app before you come or pay cash via honesty box. MySoS also generates indemnity but if you doing cash payment you will need to fill in the indemnity book). All stages will be marked from 1030am but no medics are on route. Transition/Liaisons will be marked with red arrows.. just follow them to find Stage 1 - 4. Please don't damage any markings or break tape.. or create sneak lines! Also remember no shuttling or any private vehicles in the forests at any time. If you break this rule it will be an immediate DQ with no refund. On-official practice till 5pm. Then join us at Pyga for some essential vitamin replenishment Edited February 25, 2019 by Griffin
