TrippleD Posted January 2, 2019 Share Hi all, hope someone can assist me . I recently purchased a 29er which came with a dropper post (internal cabling hydraulic/air) with below specs: MATERIAL FORGED / AL6061 OFF SET 3 mm CRADLE 43 x 42 ANGLE -5°~+18° DIAMETER 30.9 / including a shim to convert to 31.6 LENGTH: 420 mm / Travel 125 mm WEIGHT Approx. 700 g (31.6 x 365) I've adjusted the seat to the correct height (with dropper post fully extended) BUT the damn thing isn't functioning correctly. Here is the issue: When I press down on the lever the dropper pushes down to the level I choose when putting weight on it and when I press the lever again it returns to the fully extended position ! BUT the problem I have is that when I resume my normal riding position on the bike the dropper post compresses/deflates/seat goes down without be touching anything .It is a new dropper as far as I can judge. I was thinking maybe the PSI level is incorrect for my weight but the previous owner was bigger built than me. Does anyone perhaps know the correct PSI level on the Satori dropper posts or have any advise as to what might be the problem? Much appreciated
Meezo Posted January 2, 2019 Share Remove the cable tension completely sit on the post and see if it drops.
Meezo Posted January 2, 2019 Share If it doesn't then you have too much tension on the cable and basically it's as if the lever is "open" If it does drop then my guess is something is not lekka with the dropper adding air may not fix this
TrippleD Posted January 2, 2019 Share Remove the cable tension completely sit on the post and see if it drops. Thanks, stupid question...do I do that by adjusting the barrel feeding the cable to the lever or must I completely disconnect the cable? Much appreciated is satori their own brand or another remake of whatever cartridge all the other brands are using ? \ reason for asking is that weight seems quite a lot higher than most other dropperposts

TrippleD Posted January 3, 2019 Share Either or preferably disconnect the cableJust some feedback, I opted to first "loosen" the inline barrel adjuster and after fiddling around a bit the dropper post is now functioning correctly! Also took my bike for a spin this morning, randomly selected the dropper and it functioned 100% every time Meezo and BaGearA

I do find that there's a sweet spot and once you get it's ????
