Hehe..I know it doesnt look like it here ..but the laaitie came down this section , and its quite a hairy downhill section , quite quick and at the top he said he was gonna give it gears to test the tyres...I tune ...ja ja ...just dont crack your skull...

Recently did my wife's bike tubeless, leaked day 1, pumped up the tyres, rode around the block, then most of the leaks stopped, it is a plus size tyre 27.5 x 2.8

Good day Folks...ok ok...I am a FIRM believer , and its VERY easy to "brag" about successes when embarking on DIY projects etc etc , to also report on and give feedback about the failures or setbacks of said DIY projects....

 

The home budget tubeless conversion is no exception indeed...

 

Last night we had a MASSIVE failure and meltdown with the rear wheel ...coz certain ole toppies wanted to get it "perfect"...   ...needless to say It went south very quickly...leave it tunes the laaitie BUT Noooooo...so..the tyre...wheel and a trillion tubes invarious stages of cut up litter my workshop......BUT...I have found the holy grail today!!!...(I think)

 

Its called a 6mm rubber off set grommet...

 

Will give feedback once this is fitted and tried n tested...

Well Folks , very happy to report back that I/we finally got the back wheel/tyre sorted...one times rubber washer/grommet fitted ...also did a new way with the tape...first put down a 20mm masking tape strip down and then the duck tape on top of that ...VAS!!!...put tyre on ...sunlight liquid juice and POP..POP ..we got a seal!!....no leaks anywhere except out of the few pinholes in the actual tyre as I had not put in sealant yet...

 

Sooo..put in the sealant and the youngster has done about 100 odd kays and the tyre has stayed inflated now for over a week standing parked....

 

Im pretty pleased ,,,he is pretty chuffed ...so lets see...
