Yup, tomorrow morning. Unfortunately theyre from an xl frame so the rear hose will probably be a bit too long for my large but who knows. I suppose there's no way around getting them bled again after you shorten the hose?

yeah, it's simple really. You'll need a new olive (compression ring) and a new barb (the bit that screws into the end of the hose) but if you do it right and don't pump the brake when you have cut the hose, you may not even have to bleed them.

FWIW, I've found that the issue with the Guides binding is due to dirt getting in the back of the piston. And as such it's possible to avoid it by just rebuilding the lever every year or so.

 

Which is a bit of a hack, but better than having to fork out for replacement kits every 2 years.
