Hi Folks

Im going to be in SA mainly around Durban for 10 days end of May beginning of June and planning to do 5 or 6 days cycling around the Half Ironman event in Durban.

I am struggling to find a Bike shop / Someone or somewhere in Durban that can rent me a road bike.

I'm 5'11'' and am cycling a 43cm Virtual top tube Treck.

Any help at all would be appreciated.

It is way to expensive to fly my bike over. Mental costs altogether as i will take three flights.

Thanks folks

There was a shop near the old Lion Match factory that used to hire out cheap road bikes. I cant recall their name but remember that they were affiliated to Cyclesphere in Morningside. Perhaps try contacting them.

You are welcome to use my road bike - Ciocc, Ultegra but it is a 58....bit very big I think.

Thanks Sepia. Tis a large bit big.

Appreciate the offer.

Hi Folks

Thanks for your replies folks. Much appreciated.

I have contacted the three shops as suggested. Thanks again. I will let you know how I got on.

@Sepia: A little big alright. Thanks for the offer though.

Hi everyone,

I am likely flying to Durban in a month to visit a friend near Richards Bay for a few weeks. Looking into rental bikes, ideally something versatile like a gravel bike. Or I could bring my own, though flying from the USA with a bike (two connections) could be a pain. Glad I found this thread: I'll contact these shops. May even look to rent or temporarily buy an indoor trainer. Open to any updated tips; thanks much.
