Wahoo ANT+ 30 pin to Lightning adaptor

I run TR on a Gen2 Ipad with a Wahoo 30 pin ANT+ dongle. I recently tried to run this setup on my new Ipad with a 30 pin to Lightning adapter which doesn't work - It only works if i use the old 30 pin charging cable. But ANT+ = nada

 

Reading up on the net it seems Apple no longer make these adapters and the generic ones don't work on ANT+, I was using a genuine one.

 

Other than Blueteeth how does one connect to new Ipad with ANT+ ?
