As some of you may know I bought a new (2nd hand bike). The crank length is theoretically correct (0.216 x inseam = 170mm), but my old crank was 172.5mm.

Now....... it feels much better on the flats, gentle uphills (it feels like there are no dead spots in my pedal stroke) and downhills (downhills always feel good) but on the uphills, it feels like I've lost 50% of my power (no smart comments from the Hub peanut gallery) on uphills.

Short of Pantani selling me his Powertap, does anyone have any comments on this? Will my power return, will I learn how to climb again?
