I just bought one of these, have not used it yet, but the reviews are all good, and it was cheap, so I took a chance.

Check this out on takealot: Action Mounts Cellphone Bicycle & Motorcycle Mount

I also use one of these when I'm on the indoor trainer..feels sturdy enough, but not sure if I'll risk using it out on the trails. Also, the red rubber thingy meant to secure the phone doesn't fit over the edges of my S9+

I’ve been using the Topeak Ridecase (both the waterproof and non-~ ones) with an iPhone 6 over a 3 year period. Waterproof one in daily use on my motorbike at present.

Approx. 2500km on mixed surface riding in bicycle touring mode

Approx. 5500km on an Offroad motorbike, mounted on a Rally-style navigation tower (lots of vibes, lots of bike drops)

Approx. 25000km on commuter motorbike

Zero issues with detachment from fittings, even when motorbike is dropped. No issues with lens damage (two phones used over above period).

Thanks, but no-thanks. I have no need for this, was just mentioning what I read on the interwebs (specifically motorcycle forum)

I have a phone holder that was gifted to me, only using it on the stationary bike for Zwift.

Pretty cool developments with the steering functionality coming out/being tested with the Zwift Companion app.

Have you thought this through? Do you really want to do this? Especially if you have a hard time seeing a display like the Garmin or the Wahoo, Shouldn't you focus a little more on where you are going at the moment?

In South Africa, ANYTHING that looks valuable seems to be an invitation for some scaly character to target and TAKE it for himself. Further, the costs of handsets today. It is just a matter of time before you landscape mounted device gets damaged.

Just wondering.

Anyone have any experience with mounting their phone securely on their trails bike? I want to be able to see a map as I ride but my eyes not good enough for Garmin and Wahoo devices. Would like to mount in landscape mode.
