Hi. New here. I hope this is the right place to post.

I recently got an old Giant Sedona for free to fix up for fun and gift to someone or let my daughter ride. Thing has bottom pivot cantilever brakes on Rox shocks. Pulling the lever activates the brakes but also compresses the shock = weak brakes. Cable routing is Lever to spacer mounted cable stop down to Y split.

Any ideas on how to make the front brakes work properly?

Canti brakes should have a cable stop on the fork arch, this makes it sound like the stop is on the frame somewhere.

Photos would help though.

Exactly. Stop is on the spacer. There is a hole in the fork arch. The stop should be in there?

Thanks. Manufactured a cable stop out of aluminium and fitted it to the arch. Brakes work perfectly now.

You're likely to snap the brace. As per my last post, find and fit a set of V brakes, which is what the fork was designed for.
