What will be the advisable chain length that i will use? How many links? Thanks.

Unfortunately there are no universal rules as to how many links long your chain should be, as there are a number of other factors that play into it, like:

• Chain stay length
• Hard tail or dual suspension
• If dual suspension, how much travel and what type of linkage (this determines chain growth)
• Derailleur cage length (this is a factor in the allowance for accommodating chain growth

As you can see, it can get quite complex.... if you want to take a theoretical approach to it.

 

The practical approach (fit, test, adjust) is way easier and there are a number of guides on how this can work.
