Over the past two weeks I keep getting a very suspect email from SARS, to my business email adress, stating that a notification has been issued on e-Filling, with a letter attached.

The attachment is in some weird format (r11). I have tried downloading it, but my antivirus blocks it.

The email adress does seem like a legitimate SARS email adress (noreply@sars.gov.za) - and they have sent it about 6 times over the last 2 weeks. I am concerned that I am missing something important from SARS, but surely correspondence from them would simply be in a PDF format.

Is anyone else getting similar? Is this actually from SARS

Sounds Phishy...

Log into the your SARS account (not via any links in the email), but directly on sarsefiling.co.za, and get your correspondence there.  Any official communication from SARS will be saved on your profile.

SARS unfortunately does actually send emails with attachments, but always best to get them from your online profile instead.  Never click a link directly from an email when it comes to finance related topics (Tax, banking etc.).

EDIT. I have also been receiving emails like this but they have all been promptly deleted. (no new correspondence on my online profile)
