Flying your bike with Qatar

Hi there. Just wanted to know if anyone has flown their bike in a bike box with qatar airlines and if so did it go smoothly and could you take it as luggage or they charge extra? Otherwise what airlines are recommended for flying to Germany. Thanks in advance

Been flying Qatar for 15 years, last 6 with a bike, as long as your box is to spec, check their luggage website, never charged, part of checked luggage. Never had any problems.

Edit, for reference, that's a minimum of 4 return trips a year, sometimes more...
