MTB trails near Pilgrimsrest

Hi fellow hubbers,

 

I'm going to Crystal Springs Mountain Lodge, near Pilgrimsrest, next week and was looking for some advice on safe mountain bike trails in the area, any advice and recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

If you want to make a trip out of it, head out to Merry Pebbles in Sabie for their trails. Here is a ride I did a while ago, but took the wrong descent which was horribly overgrown.

 

I have also previously climbed to the radio tower on top of Mount Anderson by using the forestry roads. Not sure if this was permitted, but I wasn't bothered by any of the forestry staff on my ride through.

 

Apparently there is also a way to ride from Sabie via the first activity I posted over the mountain to link up with my second activity to make your way back to Pilgrims Rest, or vice versa. Either way you'll need a lift.

 

One final thing to add, pack your climbing legs.
