What I like about Barnetts is that it goes beyond bicycle issues into generic stuff - all about different types of threads Whitworth vs Metric vs BSF etc. Having said that, 99% of mechanics may never have to worry about incompatible threads. I find some of that stuff nice to know even if I'll never use it.

Up to which chapter does this Barnetts download go. The one I have goes to Chapter 38. I know there is still an index but I have never been able to download it. The copy I have doen not cover cranks with external bearings for instance.

Oukaay..... same as mine. This means it does not cover 10 speed Shimano drivetrains and external bearing cranks. It does have rudimentary suspension forks and disk brakes though. A very handy reference book to have.
