Manitou Markhor stantions and dust seals play

Hi all! I have had my Manitou Markhor 100mm fork for about 2years now. Serviced the fork at my LBS after 2000km on it. They just cleaned everything out and put new oil in.

I have noticed some play on the dustseals. Is that normal or would that need to be replaced? Headset bearings feel fine and front caliper and wheel is tightened. Also not the brake pads. Have any of you had the same problem? What would the fix be?Forks  came on my Merida Big Nine 500 2019

One 'should' service the fork every 50 hours.

If you rode 2000km in 50 hours then rad.

Realistically, your bushes are worn and you probably want to get the damper stripped as well.

New wipers and dust seals too.

If you leave as is you will start getting stanchion wear and render the fork useless.

Get someone who knows suspension to have a look at it. Your profile doesn't say where you are from, so we can't offer advice on who to go to locally.

I am from Hermanus,  I assume Cape Town will have some suspension experts.

definitely yes.

Droo and Drew from Stoke Suspension would be my recommendation.

Find a guy called Lance Stephenson. He lives in Grabouw I think. Not sure if he is still working on bikes but he is a guru on those forks if I remember correctly. He used to own Epic Bike Shop many moons ago. He is on here somewhere.

Cool. Thanks will do!
