I've been looking at getting a satellite tracker for when I'm alone in the mountains with no phone signal. I see the main options are Garmin and Spot. The Garmin seems to get better reviews for quality and reception, but the Spot works out at a much lower cost.

Does anyone have any first hand experience with the trackers? And does anyone have a device I could test for a day or 2?
