  1. Trying my luck - anyone I can join for a run on Wednesday morning in PE from Humewood / Summerstrand area? Any pace and distance.
  2. I finally checked my wife's app - she pays R10 'monthly account fee' and R10 'vitality money premium'. So it is R20 a month.
  3. It's very easy to do in the app on her phone. My wife had to do it too. It gives full access to the extra functionality. And then you can even transfer miles between each other (or to other discovery clients).
  4. That's great to know. Thanks. I looked around a while back and then forgot about it.
  5. It was great reading through this. Getting excited!
  6. Great! Still need to work out what time I'll be riding through the different areas. Any safe route suggestions to get from Stellies to Claremont, or better to just get in a car?
  7. Hi, I'll be attempting the Cross Cape ride from 7-9 November. Are there any places on the route I need to be extra cautious? How safe are the last 50km on tar into Stellies? (And if anyone wants to join me for all or part of it, please message me.) https://ridewithgps.com/ambassador_routes/1319-the-cross-cape?lang=en
  8. Definitely carbon. More pictures attached... (was told the issue is on the non-drive side)
  9. I think a friend has the same issue with his carbon hardtail frame. He sent me this image. Would this be the same problem described above? It's difficult to see anything majorly wrong when I look at the dropouts myself. Any recommendations for someone in Joburg that can fix it?
  10. Hi, anyone want to buy a pair of Altra shoes of your choice at a good price (R2000)? I won a pair of Altra but thinking of rather getting another pair of Asics Trabuco 9 which I know work for me (if I can find any stock!). Or the upcoming Xodus Ultra looks good. You can choose any road or trail shoe on https://altrafootwear.co.za/ (I also have a 15% discount code if anyone needs it)
  11. I think I actually have some lying around somewhere at home. Will check for you this afternoon...
  12. I've been looking at getting a satellite tracker for when I'm alone in the mountains with no phone signal. I see the main options are Garmin and Spot. The Garmin seems to get better reviews for quality and reception, but the Spot works out at a much lower cost. Does anyone have any first hand experience with the trackers? And does anyone have a device I could test for a day or 2?
  13. If you don't come right with finding that piece, Rapide sells the whole adapter for R189 https://www.rapide.co.za/product/rapide-6-bolt-to-center-lock-adapter/
  14. Looking for a small / medium bike for my gardener for commuting - his single speed that I built him that he loved was stolen last week (locked up outside his room). Onto his 5th bike in 10 years I think (and the 2 he took home to Zimbabwe for him and his wife for when he retires) - I've run out of parts now for another build and don't really have time right now to build something up anyway....
  15. I actually was also wondering about that - I didn't see an option to choose debit date.
  16. I can't remember if it was mentioned yet - I moved my Discovery debit orders from my non-Discovery bank account across to my Discovery credit card after getting a note last week to do it - you just follow the prompts in the app under debit orders - they're giving 10000 miles per debit order (seems to be 1000miles per R1000) - got a nice surprise because I have a few debit orders and didn't realise it was going to be per debit order, just presumed it was a maximum 10000 total.
  17. The vouchers and discounts also work online 😉 Hope you feel better soon!
  18. The 50+% device discount works for devices that have built in HR. You only have to do the combo deals (device and HR strap) for devices that don't have HR built in. (And as noted already earlier, HR straps on their own are considered gear, not devices.)
  19. Credit card gives you access to the discovery bank app and double miles day, don't need a full banking suite for that, although I then 'only' get 15/30% instead of 20/40%. And I opened a pay per transaction bank account for my wife so she also has access to her miles in the banking app instead of just vouchers in the discovery app (she didn't need the credit card because she already has one linked to mine and didn't need a full banking suite).
  20. Decathlon. R99. Works brilliantly. (I use it for a top tube bag.) https://www.decathlon.co.za/cycling-bottles/143406-13426-universal-bottle-cage-mount-black.html?reviews_note=4
  21. Exactly. My wife also had no need for a new device, so my sister got lucky with some nice savings on her new device
