Sending a bicycle overseas

Hi all,

I'm wanting to visit a friend in Montreal this year in August and would like to take my MTB with me. I will however be in Europe for a bit before I go to Canada and thus I want to send it to Canada from SA directly. If anyone is in the know could you please offer some advice on what would be the most cost effective solution to do so?

the most cost effective would probably be to travel with it...sending it to Canada would implicate customs etc...so not sure if it would be cost effective

Probably cheaper to hire one in Canada if you are not going to take it with as part of your luggage.
