Best Value lights

This has probably been asked before but what are the best value lights at the moment for early morning rides in a group ?

Much depends on what you want to use the light for.

On the road in a group, I guess you do not need a super bright light (I am guessing, since I do most of my night riding off-road and it is only 2 of us).

Most bike lights will do for road use to be seen and the brighter ones will even allow you to see the road as well.

In general, go for a light using LEDs.

For a torch with decent light, you will need to spend a bit more than R100, but not much more.

For a proper bike light, http://www.brighter-lights.com offers exceptional value and lost of light.

thx MountainLion - looking initially for riding road in a group but need to do a few audax rides which will involved extensive road riding at night. any ideas?
