I'm particularly curious if the shorter 15km distance is open to Sub Vet & Vet. I know some events the shorter distances specifically cater for junior and sub junior only.

Always a fine line between "racing" and "attract new riders" ....

A recent event outside Stellenbosch had a short route for the kids and "ride along parents".  NO prizes for older riders in this distance.  But for many kids this was their first ride, and the parents was very much part of the ride at the back.

BUT ... if we are talking of a race that carries points to the Schools Series, then parents has no business up at the front end impacting race results.

Organisers needs to be clear about their expectations for the event, and who is allowed in each age group.

It is the standard way of saying 'the age you turn this year'...

So if you are 14 now but will be 15 by the end of the year, you are eligible for the 60km (seems young).

Most age group sport is worked out this way. if you are 39 turning 40 in 2023 you are a Vet. Not the animal Dr kind

Damn

Thought I was in luck
