Bursting a tyre from overheating is very, very common in the mountains. Because you only ride the flats you never experience it.

 

I wonder where you get that arbritary 80kgs from? Is there some calculation you want to share with us?

 

Your advice is not sound. Advising someone to purely make that decision based on weight rather than terrain is downright naive.
