Good day everyone, hope all is well.

I bought a secondhand Cannondale Scalpel, all the bolts and nuts are rusted on the outside (where one can see it). Yes I cleaned them with some elbow grease, but not a s nice a new ones.

My question, can one replace the bolts and nuts with anything that fits or do I have to get the bolts and nuts from Cannondale?

Another question, from who or where can I get the colouration bolts and nuts? Anodized I think it is called.

Thanks

Some of the bolts are very specific to the Scalpel, especially the Linkage bolts and style of wedge system they use.

You could remove the standard bolts (Like the ones holding your stem/bars on and bottle cage bolts) and have them anodized or replace them with a colored bolt kit from the likes of Wolftooth.

The main linkage bolts I would rather buy new from Omnico then risk sending them away to be anodized or treated. There are some great products for corrosion prevention you can use on the new bolts to keep them looking lekker
