Status of Cycling Safety in and around Hartenbos / Mossel bay / George

Going to Hartenbos in a week's time and normally do lots of riding with my wife in and around Hartenbos / Mossel Bay area, as well as on the extensive network of gravel roads all the way to George, and would appreciate if locals from that part of the world could provide a status update on safety in general in those parts and perhaps advise on routes/areas to avoid, please. 

I understand riding along the train tracks between Klein Brakrivier and Hartenbos is no longer safe - perhaps someone could confirm this please?

Can't comment on the train tracks, but the gravel roads in the George area are still generally safe, irregardless, just be vigilant.

To my knowledge some of the groups from Hartenbos and Kleinbrak/Reebok/Tergniet worked together to clear some sections, but I don't know the details. I've reached out to my dad; he helped there so should be able to give me some more information.

According to my dad, it has been cleared all the way, and nice to ride. The path is a bit more narrow here and there, and some places it is necessary to get off to cross the tracks to the other side. They rode it this past Monday.
