So I believe that I finally fixed the creaking noise. It was caused by the frame/flip chip interface. I tried cleaning and greasing the flip chip, but the creaking noise would return within a few km's. Last night I removed the flip chip and applied a thin layer of masking tape on the frame/chip contact area, before re installing the flip chip.

This mornings ride was quiet, finally!

I had the same problem with the Trek Checkpoint's "flipchip" (they call it something else but it lets you adjust the wheel base). What a stupid solution to a problem that doesn't exist.

Just means lots of metal on metal/carbon contact which with all the dust will inevitably creak.

I just removed them and left them off the bike. No more creaks. Does not affect axle security at all.

The newer Checkpoints do not have them. I wonder why...
