MTB in Bethlehem Free State

I am throwing a stone into the bush with this enquiry. But is there any MTB in Bethlehem?

Does anyone know if there is some secret DH trails in the area or even Dirt Jumps?
Is there anyone in Bethlehem that rides anything even close to DH or Dirt Jumps?

The wife and I are moving There soon from Cape Town and I was hoping there might be someone to show me the ropes in the Bethlehem MTB scene.

Hi Steve, I am from Bloemfontein with family in the Eastern Free State. Monja and Wilco van Heerden are involved with FS MTB and their 3 x kids ride XCO. The Van Heerdens live in Bethlehem. That should be a good intro to Bethlehem's MTB and/or XCO routes. Then I remember way back there used to be some really awesome trails outside of Bethlehem towards Fouriesburg. The area is called Slabberts. 2 Possible avenues (and perhaps Monja and Wilco might also have some info) is Dustin Rudman, as he had an enduro event on this farm, and you could possibly also try Craig Wapnick. I seem to think he was or is part owner of that farm. I hope this helps.

Agree that Slabberts area has awesome circular routes (of about 40km if I recall correctly) to keep you busy all day.  Nice rollers and very quiet roads!!
