i was just wondering if there is a way to fix tubular tyres quickly and easily (and cheaply). I have heard about slime in the tubby or about undoing the stitching and putting a patch on the inside? are there any tried and trusted ways? any success stories?

enlighten me o enlightened ones:)LOL

The only way to fix them is to firstly more or less locate the puncture. Then, remove the tape on the inside of the tubbie over that area. Then you undo the stitching, then you patch the tube as per normal. Then you redo the stitching then you glue back the tape. Then you put the tubbie back on with glue and then you find someone to build you a pair of clinchers.

Oh yes, and don't forget to fix the puncture properly first time. Very few people know how to fix a puncture so that the patch is as good as anywhere else on the tube. This is evident from the number of people who admit to throwing away tubes after they've punctured.

My tubbie repair  process was simple and had 7 easy steps

.

1) strip tyre off rim.

2) Find Whiskey, usually an Islay Whiskey

3) Pour 1shot, spot of water and swirl, inhale, appreciate the aroma.

4) Pick up tubbie

5) Open the lid to the Brabantia

6) through Tubbie into Brabantia

7) Close lid
