Hey, i bought a Silverback Alpine 2008 mtb for my lady!

What a deal - R 2999 for a Deore 27spd bike with l/out fork!!!

I think Silverback will be the bike for 2009?? The right product at the right price!!

Hey, welcome to the Alpine riders! I have one now for almost 8 months and done approx 1,000 km's on it, mostly offroad in Tokai. (yes, I am that red in the face woman puffing uphill...)

Had a bit of trouble with the setting of the gears in the beginning, but that was after a few months sorted. It is a bit heavy, but feels very solid and I'm getting excellent speed downhill, although that might have something to do with my own gravity pull.

So far it managed to survive my crashes more or less in tact and I haven't had major repairs on it. Just changed the chain and after hitting a rock I had to change my largest cogwheel.

Good luck with it!

a friend also bought one but i think his deal beats your awesome deal as he paid R 2600-00.

But anyway he also started riding now at 40+ a few.

These bikes are good value for money

  • 2 months later...

Where did you get the Alpine at such a good price?

I have a friend who is looking for a bike, and I have recommended the Alpine to him, but most of the prices are over 3K where he is looking.

Cheers,

Andrew

I'm overheard someone at Linden Cycles mentioning that they had a Silverback for under 3k. I didn't hear which one though
