jpshack Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 Good Day I would just like to find out with the closing down of Wesbank Raceway are there any other "traffic Free" places to train in the afternoons in the south? If not then, please let me know what time the bunch leaves from the moto-X track on weekday mornings, is it still at 5am and are there still safety/ support vehicles? Are there any group rides in the afternoons? Regards
Cruzer Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 Yello I am unaware of any Traffic free areas in the South other than........ SUIKER BOSS RAND!! If you havent been, then you are in for a treat! oh did I mention the odd climb?? Its a 60 or 40km route on tarred roads with no or virtualy no traffic with amazing scenery and a bit of wild life to boot. Just be ready to CLIMB. It looks like the Groups leave the MX track from 6am and then again at 7am. Last weekend the 7 am bunch was good but I imagine the guys and gals will be moving to 6am as it warms up. Perhaps you are refering to rides during the week? - If so I have no Idea.

Yes i have missioned over the suikerbosrand mountains in 2 Vodacom/GRC races, not pretty.... Shud be out in the mornings then. Wonder woman, do you know if the days are specific for the ride in the early week mornings or is it just Mon- Fri? Thanks again.

Ummm...I'd say on average between 10 to 30....Tues, Wed and Thurs there will always be some people. Yip, i join them, not everyday as I need to do hills and intervals as well. Will probably be there tomorrow morning hopefully for a good hard one.

Thanks again.[/quote'] I think the majority of people are there Tues, Wed, Thurs....Monday probably no one.Friday Very few...a bit of an iffy day!! Weekends they meet 7:00 and you just join the bunch you wnat to ...speed and distance wise!!
