to see how this bike was made so light

I have the same frame, but only get it to about 10.8kg with full xtr and v-brakes +  Manitou MRD R7 fork + Hutshinson Python tyres + DT swiss 1480 rims; With Maxiss Mimo tyres its 10.5kg with pedals on.

An amazing bike. will not swop it for anything

Very good looking bike. Its a pity that the wheels are'nt tubeless. I'm sure he can save a few more grams if he makes the wheels tubless with the standard tyres.

And full points for not using a carbon frame!!!!

Some of the parts on my bike are lighter than those, and some are slightly heavier. If I could, I'd get myself a slightly "older" Kona The King, the Hei Hei's predecessor, also with blue lettering. Also replaced all the bolts on my Scalpel 3000 with titanium. I think the most weight I'm wasting is on my Cane Creek converter headset, it weighs a ton.

Apparently its a lighter setup than a 2x9. I reckon thats a load of cr@p though nothing is lighter than a THM Clavicle crankset done up with Extralite TA Specialities , 28 tooth inner ring and Extralite 44 tooth Octaramp, ( outa ring). match that witha KCNC 11-32 cassette and you are allready 200 grams lighter.
