Just ordered my X1. Should arrive this week and I'll have it built up by early next week. Can't wait! Smile

Got mine this weekend.

Stripped a whole lot of parts off it and now gotta build it up again.

Started with upgrading SLX cranks to XT, and brakes to Avid Elixir CR. Waiting for Thomson seatpost and Easton bar + stem.

Will post pics when I am done.

Prices range between R 26 000.00 & R 27 500.00.

Silly thing is that they come with 819 UST rims, but non UST tyres. Gobi saddle as standard is nice!

I also just recently got mine.

Very happy with it so far, the suspension seem a whole lot more useable.

I have a question:

Does anyone else's Anthem X1 bob a lot when pedalling - particularly when spinning uphill - unless you 'lock out' the rear shock? ?I have set sag to recommended 10mm or so and unless I 'lock out' the shock with the RP32 lever thingy I get a lot of bob...

Tis fine if locked out but then I need to remember to unlock on the way down.

Thoughts?

Two of my friends have Anthems and both of them had to get use to it.  As your pedal stroke gets smoother the bobbing will get better.

But I always say bob is your friend.  I rather bob along than have my backside bashed to smithereens.

Bob is relative! Relative to your pedal stroke, relative to air pressure in shock, terrain etc.

I tell you what. I've ridden the Anthem 1 now for 3 years and can't complain about the suspension design. Just service the pivots annually! The new X range is far more relaxed ridinig position and ability to hit bigger hits.

I like the changes I heard from Splat. I wanted to upgrade to X1 but the orange one (UK based colours) but they couldn't organise me one.

My blinging would have been Xt upgrade, Fox 100 RLC and Hope brakes. Was also looking at Chris King BB - all of this in Blue (to go with the Fox colouring)
