MTB Wheels - a challenge for the techheads

A good option is the Bontrager Race MTB wheelset.

 

You are looking at about R 4,500.00 at retail.

-They have no weight restriction, so you have no issue with your weight on that! I know chaps that weigh WELL over 100kg's who ride them!

-Sealed bearings, so nice and easy to service.

-The other bonus is that they are tubeless ready and come with the Bontrager rimstrips the at they require and some pretty decent valves. All you really need to buy extra is a bottle of sealant!

 

On the topic of weight, they weigh in at around 1840 grams.

 

I weigh in at about 92kg's and I have these for 1 season intervals, the only time I have had to true them was when I smashed a pavement with my rear wheel (school boy error!!) I dented my rim (which I still converted to tubeless later), but not a broken spoke and when the store popped it in the truing stand, it hardly needed to be trued... Really good wheels in my eyes.
