My solution to adjusting a full-suspension bike:

Buy a six pack of good beer.

Download all relevant manuals for the shocks off the internet.

Get comfortable and read the manuals (you will not understand half of what is being said!)

Have somebody handy to hold the bike while you measure the SAG.

Keep adjusting the shocks and then riding around the garden until you get the right feel.

When all is done, drink the beer.

I read in a mag somewhere that if you do not bottom out either of your shocks atleast ones on a technical ride' date=' you're not using it to it's full potential.

Then I have it set way too hard, haven't even looked at the front settings yet but it is also quite firm.

Put a small cable tie round your stanchion and go for your regular ride after setting your shock. At the end of your ride check how much it travelled, it will stay at the most travel. Dont pull it too tight that it can damage the shock but it must stick at its max.

Remember to write your pressures down. You'll be surprised at how easily you forget.
