Glad you were okay, Dun Man & Hashiem. I was part of that bunch too and took quite a hard fall. Helmet also safed my coconut, but the inside of my helmet is in pieces, plus my knee and shoulder are "knocked".

Thanks for explaining what happened - I was further back and taken down by the falling bikes and bodies.... Did not know what actually took place.

Thanks to the hub all has been explained - if anybody out there won a Bike I need one :) just kidding will see what it will cost to repair tomorrow.

Thanks for the concern PeterM yes I'm ok but I can assure you I am looking for that rider who was in front of me. Not to pursue anything but to let him know the rules of the road. Reckless cycling is worse that reckless driving.

It sounds like a bad crash for sure & that it was this one guy's fault.

After saying "he's an idiot" etc. etc. why do you think he did it? Because obviously someone can't act that stupid all the time & make it to adult years. & I'm sure in normal circumstances he'd be able to tell you the right way to pass.

A lot of people on the front of bunches feel it necessary to "perform".  It's funny the pressure we put ourselves under - d'ya think he got out of his depth with the speed you were going, popped & took the 1st chance to bail?

Did he come down too?  Seems quite a few times natural selection misses the obvious target to cull.

eish, to all the hubbers who went down - hope you all heal up and get sorted bike and helmet wise soon.

going down due to someone else's stupidity is not nice - beent here done that and only know the cause thanks to the spectators who say it happen and told me when they phoned/came to visit me in hospital afterwards.

intern - you are another eg of a TRUE hubber. may good things come your way after that phenomenal offer.

No, I don?t think so. I some how remember our bunch approaching a single mtb rider (no disrespect to mtb riders) in a red top, going very pedestrian ? I think that might have been the culprit?!? <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

And that made me think last night, while I was lying in bed with my aching limbs, I (O seeded) started in the M-O group, I sprinted ahead with a few following me, joined the previous bunch +-4km later and moved on to the next bunch ? and somewhere in between those bunches we crashed.

My question ? the solo person who caused the crash and who was going so very slow ? what was his seeding? It must have been a very low seeding. How can someone have such a low seeding and not know the basics of a fun-race? Or was it not his own seeding? Or was he not part of the race at all?
