@Dirtbreath:  Thanks for the tip

@Azonic: It gets addictive once you start using a scale.  There's a guy on Weightweenies with a scalpel at 7.89kgShocked but how much it cost him is another story...

Mamparra where did you get that frame???

It was a plain white one that I got from martelpypie. Cycleart tried to paint it to my specs.

I thought that was my dad's superlight Its a real nice bike

@vaulter1: Nice build! Your colour-coordination needs some work though Wink

Nothing goes with that Yeti turquoise. It's like that pastel green they use on Bianchi's.

Oooops. I do actually mean it as a compliment. I dont think its meant to match anything.

As for the Yetu turquoise I like it. The older ones up to 2005/6 were great then they lost their way but the 2008 one although a bit too much black is a really nice colour.

I am a bit of a fan of Henry Ford/Gary Player/Johnny Cash/ every BEE playerLOL

@niterider:  I actually pondered over color quite a bit and since the Manitou R7 MRD only comes in Red (unless you go big with heavier Carbon one) and I didn't really want a black Chris King (if you're going to show off why not be colorful) I thought I'd try for a subtle Red, White and Blue. The white is the "chromed" fork crown if you're wondering.

@Dirtbreath:  You're right about the Yeti turquoise (based on the 1971 Crysler Desert Turqoise - for bonus history points) but in my books there's really no better color for a Yeti.

for all you that noted the exclusion of a full bike photo, one has been added - and on a couch no less!

hi Vaulter

can you explain how you have filled in the V-brake mounts on the fork?

Looks quite interesting, I have a similar problem at the moment.

@parabola:  I actually cheated a bit and had Northcliff cycles put the finishing touches on it (ran out of steam at the thought of the brake bleed) and they did it for me - should as them though.

@Serendipity:  At the Asishove I could have used a 27 instead of a 25 but for the most part I'm used to pushing the gears and still run a granny in the front so it's not as bad as you might think.

@MintSauce: nope - bought the frame from a guy in Stellenbosh but saw the one Raoul had listed - thought it had already gone when I started looking.

Sorry for the multiple posts earlier guys - I was obviously too quick for the serversLOL
