I'm sure there are a bunch of other good reasons as well. So what are the reasons to support SA's in June? I battle to think of one. Anyone?

1.It is cold and crappy everywhere CSA would want to hold it, which is normal in CT, giving the CT riders a chance.

2.The riders from Gauteng are all full of flu, giving the CT riders a chance.

3. It is during the European summer season, so the SA pro's are unavailable, giving the CT riders a chance.

any other reasons?

I vote that they should have it on the SAME day as the Argus.  In this way the Argus can become what it was supposed to be A FUN RIDE and SA Champs can be what it should be THE MOST PRESTIGIOUS CYCLING EVENT in SA.  People chose (or even consider) Argus before SA Champs are FUN RIDERS and not serious competitive cyclists' date=' and should give their licences back to CSA, and enjoy riding for fun.

Let us sort out the difference between competitive and fun cycling once and for all.

They can't do that because not all the licensed riders are allowed in the first licensed/pro bunch. And there are no vets/women/junior bunches. And besides, the distance is not right for the various categories.

Funride world champs versus SA road champs - world champs will always win.!

The old SACF tried this many years ago by having the Report cup track meeting a very prestigious meeting on the same weekend many years ago needless to say the Argus still go on but the Report cup doesn't

Yup I ride for fun - I don't get paid to ride my bike! But I am about to go and have about 3hrs of fun now (who knows who - been distracted). The weather is perfect in CT.

Konafan - out of interest how many SA medals have you won in your lifetime?

Get real, I ride for fun, and want my fun riders back.  I hate all these pseudo pro-ffession-als that think that cycling is about themAngry
