I have seen this on a few people's tyres but they were new and I assumed it was a manufacturing fault. Their tyres were immediately replaced by their LBS and even if it happened again they were replaced.

Now I have been running a pair of Crossmarks, the back is about 90% worn while the front is about 30% worn. 2 bubbles appeared on the front tyre after my ride the other day. These tyres have been on the bike for about 9 months of pretty hard riding and have held up fine.

Any idea what could cause this problem now? Is it a manufacturing fault that has only appeared now?

The front tyre is due to go on the back soon and to be replaced by a new front. Any danger in using this tyre further?Ouch

Oh, they are tubeless with Stans sealant if that makes any difference.

I heard the other day that apparently Maxxiss only replace the tyres is you use their recommended sealant - which is not Stan's. I have seen a few Crossmarks do this.

Does this mean that they think the sealant is responsible for this problem?Confused

These tyres have about 3000kays on them. Back although nearly dead doesnt have these bubbles. There must be around 25 sealed punctures on the back wheel. I reckon about 5 on the front.

I must be honest and have never heard of this problem from any other make of tyre.

Not that easy to see but the bubble forms under the middle +. This is not that big. The others I have seen have been much bigger. Very tempted to drain it to check if there is air or sealant in there. Much like draining a boil.Dead

This happen to most of them, i had a few of them myself, LBS changed it for me, gave me brand new set of tyres before the epic this year and on the third stage made a blister and 10km later the blister burst.

I wont recomend riding on it, if it has a blister no sealant seals that hole if it burst and you dont want to get stranded some od place.
