Frame weight

Hi Guys,

just for intrest sake, do you know what your frame and fork weighs?

I just serviced my Fuji Marseile pro, and weighed the frame with a cannondale ultra slice fork. Weighed in at 4800 grams. I thought it would be a bit lighter, but the stuff never weighs what the manufacturers say it wieghs.

Cheers

Did you actually weigh it?

Jeez, that is light.

Carbon I suppose, what does litespeeds weigh?

The lightest available is the Ghisallio(?) I think at about 700g. I am sure at 4800g the bike had the cranks and bb, and derailleurs on? That's terribly heavy, my old Cannondale Caad4 frame weight is about 1400g and the fork about 500g, so say 2000g.

I have a Garneau Sonix 6.4

Frame = 1090g

Fork = 320g

Not the lightest, but stiff as a board and soooo damned responsive. Best frame I've ever owned (to date)

Do you guys know about the bikepedia website?

Got these off their site. This is my first bike, so don't know if it is responsive or not. I spoke to a dude the other day and he said he doesn't like fuji, the frames are not stiff enough, he only ride Willier.

Do you guys know anything about these fuji bikes?

Frames never weight what the manufacturer says it weights because they never define exactly what they are weighing, ....well save for Litespeed and Cannondale.

Cannondale gives you the weight of a frame and fork with uncut steerer and incl the derailleur hanger, and seat collar.

Litespeed Gisallo comes with CoC that confirms frame weight minus bolts.

Scott excludes the weight of bolt, derailleur hanger, bottle cgae bolts, ie ligtest possible configuration, not as sold.

Many companies do this. I weight is your thing then weigh the final bike and don't use the brochure as a bible.

trek 1500 58cm

Frame/headset and fork - 2kg (incl derailleur hanger/seat collar/steerer/water cage bolts)

Weighed it when I bought the frame.

I am Very happy - not worried about the weight (since its not the lightest,  but its sure is solid)
