Shawn' date=' I guess not. I was wondering why the bike could stand up all by it's lonesome.[img']https://assets.bikehub.co.za/legacy_images/smilies/smiley36.gif[/img]

That obviously explains why you enjoyed the intervals. You had 4 wheels' date=' so it was 100% easier.

Some okes use EPO, some just use more wheels - all cyclists are cheats[img']https://assets.bikehub.co.za/legacy_images/smilies/smiley7.gif[/img]

Forgot to add you also make use of two cycle computers and 24 magnets.

Where is all of this going to end?

Actually, took the second computer off the bike a few months back. The extra weight was killing me. Must've save 100 grams dude.

Slave only took the 2nd computer off because his average speed was suddenly in excess of 70kph!!

I went out for a spin this afternoon...not another cyclist on the road! The area around Alberton/Glenvista and Kiblerpark is also rather busy in the afternoons by way of vehicle traffic.

Are there any organised afternoon rides during the week out this side? I found it was not too cold, rather pleasant weather this afternoon.

GO, some of us have day jobs and cannot be out on the road during the afternoon. smiley6.gif

I'm so desperately in need of training, I'm threatening to take one of those huge exercise balls to work so I can use it as a chair as quasi-training.

At least the little training I do seems to be of the right type smiley1.gif - NOT INVOLVING BICYCLES! Will get back on the 'cycles after the 20th, and hopefully be able to do a sub 36 seeded race on either Carousel or Lost City.

Would not have minded to be able to join on a afternoon (14H00 ish?) cycle, but the bank manager would not approve. soz man

Ox is right GO. I don't know of any PM rides in the area. I do see other cyclists out there on the odd occasion, but mostly riders going out solo.

Day before yesterday though, a group of cyclists came past me at the end of the Rand Water road (next to the micro light air field). That one looked like and organised ride.

Nice to see you again yesterday bud. Pity I could not have joined you that ealry for a ride. When I went out a bit later, my recovery ride turned into a TT.

My plans for Sunday are simple, going to Church first. Should get home about 11 and then I am going out to do a 100 k's. Anyone wanting to join me is welcome.

Slave, are you going to do that MTB thingy in a while?

Coz I'm looking for partners in crime tomorrow at Northern Farm. A two hours 'easy' stint around the place...

Who wanna join? Slave? Trubie?

Tempting Ox, but am already doing a MTB ride to the Walkerville race with Obelix on sunday.

Tmrw I need to do 80 k'+ s on a decent surface , so gonna have to give you a thumbs down this time. Sorry

Trubes, I take it you're going to go outwith the usual bunch of suspects at the usual time tomorrow. I'm tempted to do a long one tomorrow as well, but I am still in therapy about riding in the cold.

I need to clean my garage and do some stuff around the complex, like fixing gates and fences. So I guess I have to do that first.

Maybe the Kid or kid's kid would like to go for a late ride.

Ja, going out at 7:30. Going long up the hill and wherever the bunch takes me. That is provided I can hang on.

Would have loved to go at 5:00, but I am going to have a late night tonite, so rather not.

Ox, at the mo, the closest thing I have to a MTB is the hybrid which is currently not available to me. If I can get the stuff from my mate in Randburg, I can complete the Enrico project and give him the roadie and take the hybrid back.

Then I can go and try this "dirty stuff" that seems to have everyone so exited.

I was checking my cycle log the other day and I have not done a ride in excess of 100 km since April. Since the weekday rides are of short duration as well, I need to work on some distance. This weekend is the best time to start going long.

Good luck

Bring us home a medal

With that 34min , 10 k time last week, you should be fine for a podium fin.
