When I got dropped, the only thing I could think of was one foot over the other one revolution at a time. Breathing required immense concentration, so praying was not on the cards.

See, if we leave early, you can still be back home in time for your other commitments. Last time it took us about 3:45.

Maybe leave a bit earlier for you?

Saturday was the second time that I have gone on the highway with the guys, it's a rare thing. I thought they were going to go back via the Lido which I was keen to do. As for stopping, those guys very seldom stop. They normally ride a little quicker but I think some of the guys were doing the Carnival race the next day. I enjoy riding with those guys as I have to push all the way.

S2L, I was already thinking of cheating a little. I figured that you guys would be coming via Vaal Str & I'd just meet you at the Caltex garage at about 6:25...smiley36.gifsmiley36.gifsmiley36.gif but that would be cutting it close. Maybe I'll go out with the boys again, I'll confirm as the week goes on.

Bwahahaha Kid.

We will go past the Caltex Garage on Vaal. Just a bit earlier than 6:25. Since Pierre wants to ride early, (I suggested we meet at 7) he can have early.

Anyway, the decision as to route is pretty much made as I have given him that commitment. It now remains for those who want to join, to be at Dischem. Time to be finalised a little later.

Was a good route that and coming back via the slightly different route. we can always add some extra dustance for thos wanting to do the allewyns loop as an extra bit.

Very much on a volunteer basis. 'Sides, I need a little more practice to run with those dogs again.

* Thinks, Damn, too fast for the slowpokes and not quite fast enough for the Benecke bunch. Practice and training dude, practice and training. *

Yip it has been going for years and it's growing.

Park???

We ride to the meeting spot.

We meet down the road from the old Panorama drive in, if you wanna join us then you can park at the shoping centre next to the old Panorama drive in or at the McDonalds in Bracken Gardens.

Which part of GP are you from ?

The Lido Bunch.. gee been going for years!

Where do you guys park?

Is it near the old Panorama drive in...?

Welcome MAverick13.

At a guess I'd say that parking at Panorama is closer than parking at Baracken City. Distance probably between two and three km straight down Klipriver.

If you park at Bracken City, dist approx 4.5 to 5.5 k's to the meeting point at Xumbugs.

But as the kid says. Live in the area and ride to the meet. It's about 9 k's from my house.

Will return post Argus, i usually park at the VA in Meyersdal, its a nice warm up ride to the meet point, afterwards i pop into VA to shower.

I'm in for next weekend' date=' when do you wanna ride Saturday or Sunday ?

What route are you redefing to ?

There are a few from 40km - 10000km's [img']https://assets.bikehub.co.za/legacy_images/smilies/smiley36.gif[/img]smiley36.gifsmiley36.gifsmiley36.gif

Huh?

Maverick, there are plenty routes around our area. The 103 odd that we plan this weekend starts at Dischem, Corner Hennie Alberts and Delphinium, goes out onto Klipriver, down the steps, past Suikerbosrand, to Heidelberg and then back to Alberton.

This is not one of the regular bunch ride routes.

The regular bunch rides go around the short loop (Allewynspoort road) and usually the longer loop via Walkerville, Klipriver (the place) and then home from there.

There are some routes that we can take via Henley on Klip or even Meyerton, but none of these is a regular bunch ride route either.

Oh thought it's the old route from the big crossing where they race with those offroads... then to kiblerpark... past the lido hotel... then straight past the randwater farms and then over the R59 up the steps and back to the crossing??

that is usually say 45km... but if there is something further.. great.

That's one of the more "popular routes" and there are lotsof bunches doing it. They usually meet at xumbugs and then leave from there from about 5:15 onwards.

My regular slot is one of the few groups that leave there just after 7 am on weekends. (Sat and Sunday).
