Alberton _ JHB South Riders

Planning a ride with the birdman hisself this afternoon. Maybe going up Camaro. Rest tomorrow, nice slow ride with the social bunch on Saturday and then race on Sunday. The rest part will depend on my levels of frsutration and anxiety at riding at slow pace. Given my "form" last weekend and planning Sunday as a recovery ride, which turned into a mad split the bunch dash with a "kyk weer" on Monday, I have doubts about how slowly I will actually end up going. Anything to get away from the group Moana rides in.

Looking forward to the race and hoping it makes a diffs to my seeding.

Busy ay today, Have a good one guys.

Anyone in the South able to tell me where I can enquire about renting a suit/tux for a matric farewell coming up?

I have rented one before from a shop in Rosebank, but would like to find something closer to home so Jnr and missus can go investigate at their leisure instead of in my cycling time

There are a coupla places in the South Trubes. One in Alberton North I know of. And I have a tux that is too small for me. Not that much that it would fit a midget, but marginally. Bow tie, cumber bund, shirt, the whole nine yards.

Not too sure of the palces name in Alberton North, but I can get it for you.

That's the one. There is also a very small place in New Redruth, just off Bodmin (opposite the Caltex in Penzance Street.)

If teeny has not wrecked my tux, it is available if needed and no, it will not fit you. I'm a wee bit skinnier than you and only weighed about 80 kg when I bought it a thousand years and 20 kg ago.

Guys...Slaves over extending the 'Flesh' thread, having abandoned this thread it seems?!

Ok, so as he did mention earlier...and I have tried sms'ng him...I wont be joining him for a ride today thanks to a late, unforseen circumstance. Just so I cant be blamed for not letting him know in time!

Now get back to talking about cycling...enough  of suits and chicks!

No sweat mate. Offer made and found lacking. Not many people are my size anyway, even when I was a skinny rat.

Owl. I been too busy out of the office and my cell battery has expired. Have not had a chance to plug it in. So, I'll just take a nice relaxing 36 k ride this arvie if the wind doesn't blow me away. No Camaro climbs then. Probably need to have some fast flats in prep for TDS on Sunday.

Sorry you won't be joining me. I will miss hiding behind you to battle the gales by my lonesome.

I have not abandoned this thread. It's more like my e-mail inbox is being overheated by all the junk these others are trading. I go out for a few meetings and get back to no less than 36 e-mails from OX, Kid, Andy and Trubie. It will take me a week to catch up with all that stuff and I have work to do in between.

Trubes, you been checking out the ladies thread. I know. I posted a few pics. Ok, a lot over the past few weeks.

So now I am tired of all the work and catching up with all the happenings on the hub and need a kip.

Later dudes. Much later. After my nap, take a nice little 36 k ride and then another nap.

No GO. I have a light on the back of the bike. No lights on the accelerator dude. The best I can do there is the reflective stuff I have on my shoes and pedals.

I discovered last weekend that I have no concept of Recovery ride. So maybe if I plan a hard session I might chicken out and end up doing a mild ride. (Yeah, riiiight. What's that?)

Slave, a recovery ride should do no harm. You should not feel worse after one of those than what you would have felt if you stayed at home, sitting on the coach all day (MIL does not feature in this smiley2.gif)

Ok, this is what I've read in a recent magazine (I added MIL)... I struggle with the concept as well!

So, my recovery ride was great. Nice steady state ride for 35 k's @ 30.8 kph average. Went up Klipriver to Rand Water, left into Impala and back home again. Just a couple of gentle little false flats to work the legs. Nice recovery ride well into the lactic acid buildup zone. The legs hurt today, but after tomorrows sedate bunch ride sucking wheel for 47 k's around the short loop, I will be ready for Sunday's TDS.

Going along Klip river home some tjop on a loud m/cycle came flying past me very close to valve bounce stage (Red line zone on reve counter). Metro were speed trapping in the little dip that they favour so much.

When I went past, "Vernon" (his name was on his jacket) was busy getting grilled by the cops. Next thing they went off in the direction of the Brackendowns SAPS. Think he was arrested for excessive speed. I guesstimate he must have been doing 160 plus.

So, maybe Vernon spent the night in chookie, maybe not but I think he's in deep smelly stuff.
