Ok, so they say "one swallow doth not a summer make", but, I actually decided to get rid of the laziness, dig the bike out from under a layer of dust (atually only a very thin layer since I have still been riding at least once a week) and commute to the office today.

It was a perfect spring day in Africa. The weather was ideal, it's getting light earlier and it's just a good time of the year.

The commute was actually quite lekker. NExt week, I will be commuting at least three times and will see how it goes.

Good to see Trubie and the blue child out and about this morning.

Had a very friendly greeting from another fellow cyclist at the top of Klip RIver just before he turned of at van Beek. Anyone know who he is. Rides a Black Trek.

Slave, you say that you had to get the bike out from under the dust but a few posts back you KOM PLANE that you have no energy to ride on the weekend but you obviously haven't been riding ???

So you could easily come for a ride on the weekend.

Nice to see you this morning.

If you keen you can join us at the start....

A lot easier up Comaro today compared to last week Tuesdays headwind ...... :)

Up comaro....eish I did that once and the only thing that kept me going is that one can see the robot at the top as the climbing starts.

Then you get a few crazy people that turn left into PA street.

One day when I'm BIG :) :)

Hey Kid, in my younger years I did ;-)

Did hill repeats there (3-4) every Tuesday morning till beginning of this year but had some medical challenges recently. However now I'm back and hopefully with a few weeks of training I can take that left turn again :)

You sound really hard core, no wonder you BIG S.

I'm sure you'll be back in full force soon.

I was reading a program the other day and it also had hill repeats once a week, do hill repeats work ?

I really suck up hills & on flats & on a decent I go slowly...

There is no doubt that hill repeats work IMHO! The Sabie experiences I did without hill reps was a lot tougher than the ones I did when I was doing them :)

Our program was then 1 week long hill reps on Comaro on Tues, Ride to Kibler park and up that last hill on the right towards Meredale Wednesday, sprint intervals on Hennie Alberts in Meyersday on Thursdays. Friday the same as Wednesday .....

The next week shorter hill reps in Glenvista and the rest the same but ja those were the days ......

I've just started to do intervals, now I need to add hill repeats - eish where do I fit all this in.

Was thinking to do a loop up Klipriver, left into Impala, left into S/koppies and again.

I know it's not seriously steep hills but I need to start slowly.

Maybe Lazy Slave can join me :P

Kid, I actually got seriously fit again doing my commutes five days a week. But then just before it got really cold, I got sick. Then I organised a lift to work and I been really lazy since then. :(

I have been doing the commute thing once a week so I guess that's better than nothing at ll. However, I been working late hours lately so sleep is kinda high on my list of things to do right now. Up at 4h45 every day and only getting hme at around 18h00 then work until midnight. I am mentally kasausted right now. But let's not discuss my mental capacity (or maybe I should say the lack thereof.) B)

Big S are you part of the same alphabet as Big H or is the $ (Dollar) key broken on your keyboard? :P

BTW, hill reps do work but you have to be seriously demented to do Camaro more than once on the same day. Last year when we were doing the Modeaor Loop (Garry and myself) my hill climbing was sharp. Now........ :( ly, it is a struggle to get to the top of Butchers, but I'll get there.

I can relate to that feeling.

I used to be shitzophrenic. But we're OK now.

Do you ride the loops on weekends with the bunches? We need to hook up sometime so I can meet you.

@ all: I see Narcosis is selling all his cycling stuff. Looks like the scuba diving has finally cooked his brain.Kid, have you been missing my company on the weekends. You seem to be bitchin at me for my lack of weekend commitment mare than anyone else. ;)

I will make a plan sometime soon. Tomorrow nigh we have a cancer fund raising theing going on. Apparently it's like a 12 hour all night walk. and I'm supposed to be at a funeral on Saturday. Maybe if I can recover enough, I might try make Sunday but no promises OK?

What racing this weekend?

That first part is hilarious. You'll actually have to get there to meet Big S :D :D :D

Narcosis is giving up cycling, I bought a tyre & some gloves from him.

Well some of my b!iching is karma, you b!tched at me last year when I stopped cycling on the road in winter so now I'm having my fun. The wheel turns :) :)

You more than welcome to join us but you going to get hurt, the guys go seriously crazy sometimes. Wait you a big guy so you can take it!!!!

Come join us next weekend, we (Trubie, Andy & I) are racing (D2D) on Sunday.

I think Ox is also doing it, if not why don't you ask him for his entry ?

He's starting in the A bunch so you'll be right at home

I did a sub three at dome last year. :)

I think I could do it agian this year. Only it would be sub three days this time around. ;)

It's not Karma dude, it's called payback and payback is a beeach. Karma is what happens when dogs chase you and they get their heads kicked in. I have just such a friend in Turffies. He chased me the other day so I turned that tables on him and chased him until he howled. It was frikking hillarious.

:D

This morning he was behind his locked gate and jumped and went mad when he saw me. Barking like some crazy fool. Pity, I could have used a speed interval or two and a few fast accelerations just for the training. Also the tight turns help with bike handling skills. B)

One day, he'll be out there again and he better watch out. I'll be stronger next time. Maybe jusy hit him with a pepper spray or two. Actually, I think I might just do that to the owner. (The pepper spray thing.) He should keep his frikking mutt in the yard. Or maybe just let the dog bite me and then sue him for a few ronds. Enough to get a few new bikes. Andy is a lawyer dude. I'm sure he can help. B)

Yesterday afternoon had a serious sprint interval as a jack russel took me on in that servitude just passed Sharondale .... t'was close me lads :o

Slave, we can sort something out about the dog and the owner. If there is enough left over then we can get Kid his dream Raleigh! B)

A few weeks ago I was almosted chased by a German Shepherd. I stopped, waved my arm and shouted at it and it backed down. You just got to make it think that you are bigger, stronger and more aggressive than it is. That doesn't work with little yappers though as they have no concept of size!
