Pleasure! :)

i have some questions. what are tubbies? a fixie? and a sram?

A tubbie is a tubular tyre. It is glued onto the rim and has no inner tube. A clincher is your "regular" tyre where you put an inner tube into.

A fixie is a single speed bike that has no gear to change. One chainring up front and one gear at the back.

SRAM is the best manufacturer of groupsets. You get SRAM, Shimano and Campagnolo. (For Kid: in that order  )

Tubbies are tyres with the tube built into the tyre. They are glued onto special rims and often referred to as tubeless or tubbies.

Fixie is a bike that has a fixed single gear with no freewheel ability. So you have to pedal all the time the bike is in motion. Because of this, the bike doesn't need brakes. I think they are used mainly (only) in track racing.

SRAM (apparently pronounced SHRAM) is an american made drive train. The Japs make Shimano, the Ites make Campagnolo and the yanks make SRAM. But then Andy, among other claims to fame, is our resident expert on SRAM. ;)

I am lost?

And THIS peeps, is why lawyers defend crooks. They BELIEVE. :P

Andy, dude, you and the kid must have cooked up some scheme between the two of you. You are both agreeing with each other far too much...... Something is definitely afoot.

Climbing is relative. If you go 5 m along a road and your elevation goes up by say 1 m, that's a climb. Maybe only one meter, but it's a climb. (oh, I forgot legal peeps did't take geography, they did Latin. This must be where you learn to say heaps of stuff that sounds good and menas jack. :P )

So to you, two climbs. To the kid (who apparently also can't count), only two climbs.

To the rest of us, there are many. Some difficult and some very difficult. I count 4 that are way above the norm in terms of difficulty. The only serious hill I ever cam across in my limited racing experience was Hekpoort hill. The rest were mere speedbumps compared to SBR. Even Dome was easy compared to a ride around SBR.

And BTW, that climb from the Karee Kloof road is long and difficult. It makes the final climb that much more difficult. And then after that, even the climb back to the car park is a doddle.

Just so HRH Hannah has some perspective: Old farts like me need CPR after one lap of SBR. Our Andy goes around twice. For FUN??

Then again, he migh have some simmian genes because he like climbing. He's good at it too.

Slave we know what Andy's problem is,but I honestly believed that Kid was able to count further than 2. Kid, I invite you for a ride in the SBR first weekend Dec, to go count the hills. Take pen and paper!

Tubbies are better as the wheel is much lighter. You put slime in the tyre to seal flats but if you get a flat which is too big for the slime to seal then you need to get out your phone. With Clinchers you simply remove the tyre, check for any debris and put in a new tube. Pump it up and off you go.

As for the LOL, one of the things Kid and I disagree on (in a friendly way) is which groupset is the best. Personally I think SRAM and Kid thinks Campagnolo.
