Slave, Munroe is Nancy and I's test climb. It is an awesome little hill!

Creation of reasonable doubt is not manipulation of the facts. It is simply the creation of reasonable doubt. Otherwise it would be called the manipulation of reasonable doubt! There are ways of doing that. You also have a duty to put your clients case to the witnesses. Great simplification but for example the witness will say X, Y, Z. You then ask the witness but would A, B, C be possible (A, B, C being your client's version but of course you don't say, "My client says A, B, C.")? Witness says that could be possible. There, reasonable doubt. Over simplified but that is what you aiming for essentially.

I will consider your request.

You okes are nuts. Really. I may be unstable but at least I can blame my tyres.

Oh and Sunrise is the same time down south as it is up north. Only changes radically if you go as far south as Cape Town. Or as far west as Namibia.

I was going to give Andy all sorts of Jibe about sunrise time since he was so specific about it. ;)

According to Accuweather, Sunrise on Sunday will be at 05h14. Pretty much the same time as Randburg and Rivonia.

And you want my wheels passed on to you?

I got an application on my phone which gives me sunrise/sunset times. And we have to be specific Slave, or you can't create reasonable doubt. ;)

Oh what have I done....? asked for help with the cycling, and now I'm knee deep in a quagmire of hurt

Wonder whether you have to be part of a secret brotherhood, like being a genuine racing snake, to be allowed to wheel suck the 5am group? is it Invitation only, or are agterosse allowed there as well?

There is another solution Agteros. :D We do the normal loop and then go to SBR afterwards. ;)

Fortunately I have to do a LSD ride on a flat to undulating route on Sunday :D Want to keep the HR below 70% max. By my calculations that disqualified SBR 2x!

But SBR doesn't raise your HR that much.

How do the groups work down south? Is there not a Long Slow group?

Ox, I been on Andy's case all week about junk. It's all part of the fun. :D

It keeps him young. :P

There is no such thing as LSD at SBR. Those climbs are wicked man, just plain wicked. No way in this lifetime or any other, that I can ride a bike up any of them without getting to 95% of max HR. I think last time I was there my average hr for the whole trip was something like 85%.

It worried me a lot and it especially worried me when it said I dod 94.7 at an average of 95%. Since then, I have given up wearing HRM. Now I feel much better. (Except when I get a bit dizzy climbing Rissik street towards the end of the week.)

Andy Munroe is just such an awesome place. I learned of it as a kid when we used to stop and admire the view. It is of course really speactacular this time of year with all the Jacarands in full bloom. I stopped there the other day to take some pics (and a much needed rest) but now I just plow on until the top. I been secretly scared of tackling it but figured last week, I need to conquer that fear. Just like going up the steps. They always hurt. Like I said last week, they are not much of a climb, it's just the speed plus the climb that hurts. From the river to the bridge that crosses over the Vereeniging road is only 60 meters of virtical climb. It is also over a few km.

Camaro is a mere 85 m of virtical climb over 0.9km.

Intestingly enough, Munroe is only 38 m of VC.

Greyowl used to tell me that no matter how fit he was, it always hurt him going up the steps. That made me feel a lot better.

*Andy looks out his window at the sky expecting it to start snowing* Slave agrees with me about a climb!!!

It is a great climb. Nance and I rode up Munroe twice on the one ride a few months ago. Not too long but a nice gradient.

Speaking of Greyowl... What happened to the man? Did he go through another rename, fled the country, or went into exile?

The Owl man is just sleeping............

The 5:00 ride doesnt happen on sundays.

If you want to do 3-4 hrs Ox, you would need to do the Loop x2 + some.

I would suggest you con Kid into doing a South loop with you before the start of the Nampak loop. Should give you about 3 hrs in total, and then you can go down to lido and back for another 45 mins or so

Longer rides go at different speeds, but you wont be able to hold a stable HR , not flat enough where they ride

All i know is that i would not enjoy riding in the north because it is very dangerous. i like the south because the roads are much more accesible and wider. i cant believe slave rides to work everyday! wow! please be careful.

There are some other guys that leave Xumbugs at around 5 am. If you read one of Trubies earlier posts, then it seems like they are real speed demons. Going up the steps at an average of 34 km an hour is like really hectic stuff.

correction needed, we only work with facts

it was actually 34.9

overall the 105k ride was just fine at 32.8 ave............ so it was of such nature that even I could hang on, the whole way

PrincessHannah, riding is the north is fine. You just need to know where to ride and ride early. One time when you in the North I can take you on a nice loop. Through the suburbs so it is safe. Be one has to be careful wherever one rides.

Why? I ride safely in the North, Nancy rides safely in the North, Ha Ha rides safely in the North and many others. But so glad to see that you appreciate my sense of humour! :D
