That does sound good! Are you turning into turning into a regular, or an exceptional, racing snake Indigo?

Need to loose a few kg after my 1 week holiday.

That was 60km of hill repeats with the racing snake Trubie and then a 70km base ride with Mini Me.

From my experience with Andy I know you northern folk don't need to train, well 2 rides a week is enough.

You base that on Andy? Coz I need to not only cycle, but to run as well to (some times) keep up with you guys down southblush.gif

Imagine what will happen when you start to swim as well

You need to come south and do a ride with MDW, but you'll have to get permission 1st because he's a serious racing snake.

Bring you TT bike with, you going to need it.

What ride did you do this past Sunday ?

We rode out to 3 Rivers, however a huge storm started approaching, 4 of us carried on the rest turned back, not sure who the one guy was riding with us, Derek from Tony Impey, Deon myself and 1 other. It rained for a bit, but it was actually pleasant riding through the rain until a truck nearly took us out on the steps.

As for Andy, I am also from the North ;-), but the Southerners can ride :-)

I was told that you stayed in the south ?

You need to ask Deon a question for me. Ask he why he rides so slowly ??

Ok seriously pls don't, he's "hurt" me enough times on the hills.

I have huge respect for him, with his talent he still has time for slowpokes like me.

BTW, have you fixed your squeaky brakes yet ?

And got yourself a decent bottle that doesn't leak ?

Told you that it's a small world.

I'm watching you !!!

:D ;) :D ;)

Ok so I gather u were with us, not sure though if u were one of those that turned back, or if you were up to the finish. It was not the leaking bottle, it was the IM Profile Design I was sold ;-), which does not hold the bottle and sent it flying out the back, causing it to crack, which leaked on my breaks causing them to squeak LOL.

Did you buy it from Derrick ?

Tell him to take it back & shove it where the sun don't shine.

Yip I was there and so was Trubie.

I was riding the Merida & wearing the Scott kit, Trubie was the big fella riding the Pinarello with the Cycle Lab kit.

You & I rode at the back of the bunch for a while.

I was only too keen to turn back, my legs have been on holiday and I didn't know if I was going to manage the planned loop.

The other guy that you rode with is Mark, also a nice guy.

Heard you guys got a nice shower after your pit stop ?

BTW, Paul's (other guy on the P2C) bottle holder broke on the way back, seems those things are really crappy.

MDW - Its Deon Coetzee!

I was also in that group and I also turned around. I was the fatty on the Pinarello

The 4th guy with you was Mark Archer.

Nice meeting you though :)

130km with 1313m of climbing and some wind

So it was good :-)

Well done Kid - serious effort that. Good prep for DC. Best to start early with one's preparation. It is afterall only 11 months away.

After today's ride I don't know so much about the DC.

I took some serious strain and we were going slowly, also run out of food & liquids.

that is why you have a year to prepare. To know to stock up on whatever you need and take it with you on the longer rides, or factor in a stop and get something to eat and drink there.

You'd be fine for DC.

You were also not sure about the hill repeats, and see it was so easy you still went and did 70k's after that.................. animal I say!!

Maybe you just need a little motivation.

Maybe the same motivation that got Andy to ride in the south ;) ;)

What? You want me to swim in the south AS WELL? Yikes, thought the occasional bike ride there will be OK.... Maybe you need to look elsewhere (closer to home) for your IRONMAN goals wink.gif
