We ALL have sinus(es)kid. Just not all of us suffer with Sinusitis. :lol:

MDW. Respect dude. Your endeavours and achievements are something to be commmended. A long time ago I was a fair swimmer, More recently a fair runner having done 1 Comrades which I finished, albeit only just. And now I guess I'm a mediocre cyclist.

So not quite up to the level of ready to take on 1/2 IM right now, but in a year, I will be. And I recon I can do it too. JUst have to do it soon, before the body finally let's me know I really am an old fart.

And speaking of a year....

365 days ago, or one year to be exact, I was in ICU at the Union. How time flies when one is having fun. Hoo boy am I glad I don't have to relive last year again.

I'm a chronic sinusitis sufferer, so what makes you special in that you cannot train with it? You self-diagnosed? Why not go to a real medical doc and get it diagnosed and sorted out?

At least then you can get rid of this handy excuse to laziness. Slave needs an IM training partner!

I also suffer from sinus issues, BUT have you guys noticed how bad it is right now, after every ride I am itchy, my nose is running, and I get a rash on my skin, I think there is some weird stuff flying around in the air, after all this rain, lots of pollen etc etc.

Its not a great feeling.

Indigo try taking a loratadine tablet once a day it will help.

Why thank you kind sir.

Please travel safely tomorrow, have a safe race and maybe see you Sunday. I'll be a the usual spot at the usual time. For the usual ride with the usual suspects.

DUDE. WHAT THE FRIKADEL??? :cursing: You don't know that pint sized dictator the way I do. His idea of IM is to get other peeps to do it while he watches from the comfort of a chair. And his idea of a training partner is to stand on the side of the pool and crack a whip while the partner sweats it in the pool. You know his idea of hill training is to sit on hs bike (attached to yours / mine / anyone else's with a tow rope) and get towed up the hills. (and then hill repeats nogal.) :eek:

Thanks for nothin' mate. Please be so kind as to refrain from offering me training partners. I think I got this one covered. :unsure:

The kid scares me dude. Have you seen those eyes? And the white bike? He may be small but he is a racing snake too. :devil:

@MDW

I was actually planning to buy you a coffee/beer/water while I picked your brain.

There is no way I could pick your brain while riding, I can't even keep up to you so it would be pointless.

@Agteros

Did go to the doc for my sinus problem. Finished first set of tablets and I'm now half way through my antibiotic course, unfortunately it doesn't seem to be getting better.

@Slave

No racing snake, I think I'll battle to do 100km at this stage.

Between the sinus & the extra weight I've slowed down drastically.

Best you let Agteros know when you going for a swimming session so he can tag along. He needs a little motivation.

Ok peeps, like this is the time of the week when I say "Have a great and safe racing weekend. Keep the rubber side down and drive safely. Come back and tell us all about the weekend rides on Monday. For those who are just training, be just as safe and enjoy."

I am outa here to go and see a client but before I do, I just need to pop in somewhere and check the temperature.

Where is Andy today? Someone make a note that he was absent. (Oh, I just did.) :blush:

Fixed it. :rolleyes:

Oh, and thanks but no thanks. Ox says he swims like a brick. Just now he gets some daft notion to tie himself to my feet and then make me swim. Eish, you okes are very unkind to a doddery old fart.

I think I'm going to find a GF and give up cycling. At least the GF will be loving and kind .... (Speaking of which, there was one (or was that two or three) that thought they could dictate my cycling habits after one cup off coffee. Needless to say they are now having coffee with someone else.) :thumbup:

Even Liewe Exie didn't try that. Well, not more than once anyway. Don't know what makes 'em think they can control stuff they have no business controlling. :eek:

See some of you maybe tomorrow, maybe Sunday, maybe monday.

Er, not so much Oxman. I am not riding the spruit tomorrow, so I'll manage to stay in JHB. Won't get washed down stream and have an impromptu swimming session. But if I leave now, I might swim home with bike in tow. No long run Sunday. Short run tomorrow. Around the block. And then kick it back under the bed. Sunday two laps and then a ride. Monday three laps then commute and so on. Going to get a bungy rope and tie it to one end of the pool tomorrow and see how long I can swim for before I alsmost drown. Then work on increasing from there.

I'm betting I can manage about 14.3 seconds first time up. :P
