I just need to keep reminding you that IM also has a swim, you focusing too much on the running & cycling.

Besides Slave will need somebody to keep an eye on him.

Swimming could come in handy if you planning a trip to OZ.

 WTF???????????????? Why do I need someone to keep an eye on me??? Surely if I am in a pool, I may need a life guard (preferably a perty blonde who can do CPR) to keep an eye on me and not some sinking brick. :P I have you to dodge in traffic, Other things yet to be discovered for when I begin running again, and everyone is looking out for my well being that I think I am only jist beginning to figure out for myself. Thanks Kid, appreciate the sentiment, but I think I now have it all in hand. (NO dumbass, not THAT.) :P

So today is a Bon Jovi day and lots of salt to mine. Later all. Oh and post-4220-0-69931800-1297239728.gif

@Slave,

For the half IM & IM you'll be swimming in the sea, so we need somebody to make sure you don't swim to the other side of the world.

Ox is just telling us he can't swim, I'm sure he can swim like a fish.

Slave, you should've seen this lifeguard in a bikini in Umhlanga in December! Oh my goodness! Probably one of the very finest forms of the female specie that I have ever seen! I seriously consider drowning just for her to come save me!

Kid, we all know that you are the one with the IM ambitions here. Since you only cycle you better get started with the running and swimming. You can ask Agteros to help with you with the running and Hummy and Nance can help with the swimming.

BigS, you permission has been granted but the eyes in the sky will keep tabs on you! ;)

So like where's the picture? :( You got a nice one of the bit that was washing your MTB during the Magalies a while back.) What's the use of this post without a piture?

True, especially sea water. :(

I have it on reasonable authority that they can take a bit of "fresh" water. (read as toilet water but don't ask how I know this.)

Yeah, I really want to spend more time racing this year, but I need cash-flow to do that. This is the chief reason I am working and not spending endless hours talking to you lot. Even if you have a mind to sponsor some racing for me, I still need to sort my life out. ;)

Seems my efforts are starting to pay off. If all goes well, I will be cycling from Sabie to Lydenburg at the begining of May. (Planning a little trip to the KNP for a couple of long weekends and that means I will have to take my bike with me to do the ride on the way back.) That should be good prep for the DC.

Anyone have any idea off the top of the head how far it is from Sabie to Lydenburg?

Oh, and by then, I suspect that I may have a co-pilot to drive my car while I ride. Hand out food and drinks and all that junk. Should be some fun. :)

'K, so if I do the Shova, it is mid year if I recall. Means I have to spend a weekend in Durbs at least. Got to have a P in the sea and ride up to M'burg the day before for the race. Is that advisableor should I just leave Durbs hellishly early, and plan a faster race.

Bearing in mind that this would also be considered prep for DC. Everything I do this year will be with DC in mind. (I can always race a better Shova next year.)

The Shova is in October. There is an Up Ride the day before. I did it last year. The whole route in reverse. Obviously more climbing as well. I got around 3000m ascent for the two days which was 10% of my ascent from April to December 2010. Currently sitting on over 13 000m for 2011 so far. :D Catch is that you have to have done the Shova in less than 3:30 or something previously. But maybe they will let you ride with them anyway to make up the numbers.
