Oh, and by then, I suspect that I may have a co-pilot to drive my car while I ride. Hand out food and drinks and all that junk. Should be some fun. :)

Is this co-pilot a man ?

That makes you a gentleman.

No all women are ladies.

Mostly they deserve the benefit of doubt

True. but being a woman is a lot like being strong, if you have to tell people you are, chances are that you are not! :)

To be fair most of the guys i know do still open doors for us ladies.

Always be worried about the strong silent ones at a race ;)

Those letting the world know about their accomplishments... well.... FIGJAM ain't always good, especially if it doesn't go on bread!

Could not have said it better myself. you get talkers, and winners. talkers talk good game and then have to come up with even better excuses afterwards. Winners say nothing because everyone else say it for them. ;)

You so right Agteros.

in the starting pen at the 94.7 in 2009 there was a guy telling us how he trains with this pro team and this rider, etc.

When we started he was no where to be seen after the first few meters.

The silent ones know they in good shape and don't need to tell anybody.

Er, not sure yet. I am working on a plan to have a very much needed holiday (spend some time in the Kruger National Park) at the end of April beginning May. Since it will cost me pretty much the same if I go alone or if I take someone with, I am thinking of either taking my son with to spend some quality time with him, or, maybe, (just Maybe) I may have an indoor trainer by then. I will know all sometime next weekend (or maybe the weekend after that).

Who knows what the future holds Kid?

All I know is on the way back, I want to ride from Sabie to Lydenburg. Over Long Tom Pass.

Wenn ich nicht wollte in Deutschland werden zu diesem Zeitpunkt dann würde ich Ihnen für diese Fahrt über Long Tom Pass beigetreten sind.

The Shova is in October. There is an Up Ride the day before. I did it last year. The whole route in reverse. Obviously more climbing as well. I got around 3000m ascent for the two days which was 10% of my ascent from April to December 2010. Currently sitting on over 13 000m for 2011 so far. :D Catch is that you have to have done the Shova in less than 3:30 or something previously. But maybe they will let you ride with them anyway to make up the numbers.

Er just explain this to my dumbass. You can only ride from Durban to M'burg the day before if you have done a sub 3:30 Shova before? Or can you only get an entry to the Shova if you have prviously done a sub 3:30 Shova before?

In the first instance, do they have like Shova police along the way checking the credentials of anyone doing it?

Reason I would like to do the up ride is I ran Comrades back in '88 and would love to do the route by bike in a sort of rememberance thing.

Also depends largely on how my life works out over the next few weeks and months.

@Slave

You can only do the up ride if you've done the Shova quicker than 3:30.

It's a very fancy day so they have police checking everybody.

I doubt you'll be able to sneak in and I wouldn't advise you ride on the highway without the protection of the police.

So you might have to wait until 2012 to do the up ride.

Obviously you'd have to do a sub 3:30 this year.

I even managed a sub 3:30 so you wont even break a sweat.

So Kid, you must join me on the Up Ride this year. Slave can do the down ride. Trubie can wait for all of us to catch up on the down ride.

Trubie & you are the racing snakes, so you guys do the up ride while I go for a swim in the sea

By then you will also be a racing snake so you can join us. Although Trubie doesn't like Up rides, says it slows him down.

You can swim in the sea after the ride!

Tell you what, if you sponsor the up ride I'll do it with you assuming the logistics work out.

This is a limited offer, as soon as my brain starts to work again I'm going to withdraw it.
