MTB friendly self catering options

Hi All,

 

Planning a weekend away soon and wanna know within a radius of a 2hr drive from JHB which places are nice and reasonably priced for a camp/chalet and also has MTB tracks or if no designated tracks available then to take your bike and ride in the surrounding areas.

 

If you know of a place or been to one - let me know?

Mountain Sanctuary in the Magaliesburg has log cabins and cottages and some rocky MTB trails, with Breedtsnek Pass nearby too for extra distance.

 

Lakenvlei on the way to Dullstroom looks good with many trails to choose from.

this website has a couple of options - have tried some  - Thabaphaswa was a great experience. From there you can ride to and round the Percy Fife game reserve - yes they let you ride with the buffalo's. There are other rides as well

You can also try "Die Oog" holiday resort, near Naboomspruit.  They have nice Mtb routes.  Google "Die oog"
